Dark Cut 2 Featured in EGM, Updates
We love magazines, especially ones that feature our games! The most recent issue of EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) magazine has a spot on Dark Cut 2,
short but sweet! This is the second time a magazine has featured Dark Cut 2, the first being a few months ago when Games for Windows magazine ran the game in a separate article. You can pick up a copy of this magazine (June ‘08 edition) at a local bookstore.
While I do not have any children (minions?) to do my programming I am busy working on a project with BoMToons, the artist/programmer behind Castle Crashing the Beard and Boss Bash. We’re working on a platformer that pays tribute to an older game that I find both epic and to be the best video game ever made. Cannot disclose too much yet but I’ll post screenshots when the time comes.
Also a few other projects coming up… yes the RPG is coming up next after that. I really, really need to finish that. And of course Halloween is coming up in just five months which means that the final installment of Dark Cut is in order. No, Light Cut was not a serious venture and definitely not the last. Any suggestions for a theme for Dark Cut 3? We went Medieval then Civil War… what’s next?

There’s so many places it could go..
Present day? The future (with all kinds of laser gizmos) or even Vetinary practice or similar… it’s a very flexible series.
Yeah, when i saw that i was like sweet!
and i then i sent you that pic.
but i think it should be in the future for Dark Cut 3.
That would be very very cool.
post-apocaliptic future!
“extract the alien embryo with the forceps”
“use the hot iron to solder the arm’s circuits”
you could also inject nanomachines and use a console to control them… with an inner view of the patient’s gut
Making Mario with BoMtoons are we?
Whatever you do, John, DO NOT MAKE IT VETINARY. That would sicken me to death, performing surgery on poor animals… I doubt many would be able to play it, accidentally sawing off that little kittens head and such…
I vote for Future, with laser syringes and stuff!
But maybe make a mixture of robot and human patients, perhaps? It would be a little less ‘Dark Cut’ that way, but it would be cooler with robots, more futuristicalesque.
Although, I hope that the ’secret project’ with BoMToons is some kinda StarFox-style game… I’ve recently downloaded StarFox 64 on Wii, and have come to realize how awesome StarFox used to be, and how not-so-awesome it is now… Although, that’s judging from Assault, not Command. I need to try that out.
Anyway, that’s just my two cent worth.
Dark Cut 3 should be future or present. Or like way in the past such as Egyptian.
I agree that it should not be vetrinary, doing that stuff to animals would make much less appealing. Perhaps World War 2? Shrapnel, bullet wounds, gas attacks, or whatnot. The future does sound really cool though.
Dark Cut 3 would be very cool. But dont make it so that it is like, throw up soon type of game. AKA take out some blood.
But if you didnt do thast, I think people would still think of it as a very fun game. And I think that it would be. Please make it soon and I hope that it is a good game.
futre or present
That’s a great achievement John. Congratulations!
Egyptian sounds really awesome. They had proper surgeons, you could throw in loads of fancy themes, and exotic things.
Well, time wise I’d say you’d be up to WWI or WWII if the series is in chronological order
Great job John! Congratulations
I like the Egyptian idea. It would also be cool to do some sort of futuristic surgery.
dude this is a sweet game keep making games like this and you’ll be an armorgames hero
Modern Iraq. Tampons, Army of Two style…
It would be killer if it was in the Future that would take some creative thinking..what with injurys…and tools….
i noticed right when i flipped that page i was like wow!.And that egyptions idea is interesting.:)
What i would like to see is alien surgery or playing as an alien doing some eperiment on human and you could like pick what you want to do etc.:P
well im just poffy DX
from what i’ve seen in light cut and in the previews it should be something world war 2 or something like that
Vietnam
