FIRST!
NO PLACE: all your base: boring, and don’t understand it
1ST: asherah: not a big fan of this game type but looks ok
NO PLACE: chomp: very unoriginal and boring game, bad name
NO PLACE: chupacabra: what? a very slow race against zombiechickens to get to a chicken? could get some improvemnt
3RD: gunshield: almost impossible and unoriginal, make it easier and i like it.
2ND: pawn: loads very slow. good but has bugs.
NO PLACE: zombiga: it won’t load.
1st- Gunshield. It had a challenging air to it and made me wanna play it more than once. When I lost I tried again and I enjoyed the level progression and options it gave when I won. Got a friend to play with me in that he clicked, I moved the mouse, and we had a blast.
2nd- Pawn. I loved the looks. Unfortunatly, it was a slow paced game which lost more of my attention. I noticed several ‘glitches’, one where the character stopped ‘walking’ and seemed to float for a moment after a jump. If the game was a little faster paced, I might have played longer. It was a one person game and I didn’t have any way to play with my friends that I could think of. CThe loading rate was also ridiculous.
3rd- Zombiga- I liked the idea and quickly got into it. The art was wonderful to look at, but in between levels is not a good place for them. It the art had been reflective of the next stage it would have been more appropriate. Wish there had been more than 3 levels. There was only one special zombie, who ran into a bus… but that bus cam right back down and killed him for me.. No challenge at all.
No Place- All Your Base. Didn’t understand what to do. Couldn’t find any objective. The loading screen was trashy and other than the move-able characters, the graphics failed to impress.
No Place- Asherah. Was interesting, but didn’t live long enough to see any depth to the game. I died much too fast for me to even get to the end of the hallway. The graphics were rather nice, and the idea was catchy. Just wish I could have lived to play more.
No Place- Chomp. Was a fun and cute little game. The idea wasn’t very original and lost my attention after a short time of playing it.
No Place- Chupacabra- Didn’t capture my attention to keep playing after I died. Graphics were ok, but could have been better.
Gunshield and Zombiga were unplayable.
Chomp is by far my favorite. Looking forward to exploring the depths of the ocean.
Pawn is far too complicated to create and not very fun. Very repetitive and boring.
1st place-1st- ChupaCabra this is game of stealth and strategy where you hide from zombie and have cool boss fights at the end of the level.
2nd- Zombiga-Awesome intro! I also love the idea of playing zombie space invaders!
3rd- Gunship-This game was fun to play. It reminded of Tempest from the Atari 2600 days.
No Place- All Your Base. Couldn’t understand what to do. THis game is very buggy.
No Place- Asherah. Awesome intro but poor gameplay.
No Place- Chomp. This game was cool with nice graphics. If there was a fourth this game would have it.
No Place- Pawn- Very buggy. When I jumped and then landed he stand with the jumping sprite. I couldn’t even get past the the drawbridge because I didn’t know what to do/
1st Place – Asherah. Great looking game although not really a fan of top down shooters. Loved the dark levels and boss.
2nd Place – Chomp. Fun gameplay. Humorous game and liked the special abilities.
3rd Place – Gunshield. Hard game to play but definitely better than the other games below.
NO PLACE – All Your Base
NO PLACE – Pawn
NO PLACE – Zombiga – Can’t get it to load.
NO PLACE – Chupa Kabra
1st Place – Asherah – This game is the best!
The later levels really shine!
2nd Place – Gunshield – This game looks cool and I like the marketplace feature.
3RD PLACE – Chomp – The game looks cool and I like the very simple game mechanics. It has a great feel to it.
NO PLACE – Pawn – The game looks OK but it’s using a 3rd party engine. Probably why it takes a really long time to load.
NO PLACE – Zombiga – This game doesn’t load. I tried it on multiple computers.
NO PLACE – Pawn – Buggy.
NO PLACE – Chupa Kabra – Don’t really have a comment. It was ok.
NO PLACE – All Your Base – Same as above.
Great job to all the teams!
1st Place Asherah
Game has awesome game play, not for casual gamers in my opinion but great game for those who can master the controles.
1ST: asherah: Liked the game play and art work. The other games are completely pathetic.
1st place Asherah, loads fast, good challenges, good gameplay, good puzzles, and awesome detail.
2nd place Chomp, fun to play but ive played stuff like it before.
3rd place Gunship, fun but repetitive.
No place for everything else, they take to long to load some are broke and some use other engines. game play just poor.
1st – Asherah – good looking game. game mechaincs worked well. the objectives where obvious.
2nd – Chomp – fun game.
No Place – Gunshield – this game was way too overwhelming.
No Place – Zombiga was a cool idea but poorly conceived. it didn’t matter what weapon you shoot, they all damage the same. is it even possible to die? i left my comp for 10min n returnd with a man still on screen?!!!!
No Place – All Your Base – This game didn’t even work?!
No Place – Chupa Kabra – alittle irritating. it was impossible to outrun chickens. once they spot you it is automatically game over.
No Place – Pawn. Slow gameplay. no AUdio? too many bugs.
NO PLACE – All your base: I couldn’t figure this game out at all it either seemed just very confusing with random warping around or buggy I’m not sure which.
1st Place – Asherah: The only game that kept my interest to completion.
2nd Place – Chomp: Kind of a cute concept, the fish bowl was too easy, the ocean very unforgiving. I just didn’t have a desire to play again after my first game over. The core mechanics were just not much fun.
NO PLACE – Chupacabra: Felt slow paced, not particularly enjoyable.
NO PLACE – Gunshield: The difficulty was distracting, the game play kind of dated and repetitive.
NO PLACE – Pawn: Loads incredibly slow, visually it is perhaps the most impressive game, however the number of bugs left it unplayable for me.
3rd Place – Zombiga: No way to skip the overly artistic cut scenes, the game play was repetitive.
I played all the games but i believe Asherah is the best of all.
1st Place – Asherah: Very challenging and fun to play.
2nd Place – Chomp: Cute game, a little repeatative
3rd Place – Gunshield: Too much going on and doesnt require skill, just a fast mouse click, not much fun for me.
No Place – All your base: Laggy and I had no idea what to even do.
No Place – Pawn: Took way too long to load for what it was and was very buggy.
No Place – Chupa Kabra
No Place – Zombiga
1st place should go to Asherah.
2nd place should go to Zombiga.
Chomp was too much like feeding frenzy to pass off as being entertaining.
Gunshield though the marketplace was a good function, really hard to find a use for it if you minus credits every time you lose.
1st Place is obviously Asherah! This game is incredible compared to the others! The art work is great and the game play is addicting!
2nd Place is Gun Shield. the game play is fun for a while but has no replayability. It gets boring fast especially since your health never seems to go down and you get shot from more than one area at one time.
3rd Place is Zombiga because the art and animation is amazing for this competition.
1st Asherah, fast load, great puzzle, well challenge, and give it thumbs up.
2nd Zombiga, very good graphics, good theme zombies but i didnt like that i couldnt move forward just side to side.
3rd Gunship its very challenging but didnt like to many enemies.
no place chomp, ive played this game before.
no place Pawn,a lot of bugs
no place Chupa Kabra, srry but this game was wak
no place all your base, a lot of bugs it was lame.
1st place Ashera – loads fast, good puzzle, awesome that the chef attacks you
2nd place gunship – what i didnt like is that you lose points when you die
3rd place – Zombiga it would of won second place if it was longer and all the guns fire the same way.
No place – All your Base – it sucked and poor graphics a lot of games.
No place – Pawn – a lot of bugs to fix
No Place – Chomp – played that type of game before
No place – Chupa Kabra – interesting to apply a myth to a game but chickens killing seriously i would have better if it was farmers with pitchfork and you can claw him to death
1st place by far Asherah, only one that held my attention and did follow the judges’ criteria from the Official 2d Game Development Competition Rules rules, all the other games were either repetitive or did not hold my attention very long.
1st Place: Asherah. It had an interesting storyline with a good sense of progression throughout the game play. I found the zombies to be my favorite part. They have unique characteristics including the Chef zombie and even the ghost zombie that possess the statues. Great work. Follows the competition rules.
2rd Place: Chupa Kabra. Good elements of hide and seek then changes to a shooting game. The two types of game play are appealing. Follows the competition rules.
3rd Place: All Your Base. Contains a major bug at the beginning of the game but other than that, the game has a unique game play using timers and player class roles. It has great potential but unfortunately it was incomplete with missing abilities. Follows the competition rules.
No Place: Zombiga. Terrific graphics but game play is relatively common and lacks some AI. Note the game does not fall under the rating T due to the excessive blood. Does not follow the rules for this competition.
No Place: Pawn. Slow movement has me bored from the beginning nor did it have any storyline. The most creative part of the game seemed to be the engine which was not written by the team themselves.
No Place: Gun Shield. This is another Asteroids game with some challenging mobs. The name that takes up half the screen has too much health. Follows rules for this competition.
No Place: Chomp. Great concept! A cross between Feeding Frenzy and Evolution, but it lacks ingenuity of creating its own style. Note again that blood in T rated games is not permitted.
1st: Asherah. Simply leagues beyond the other games in terms of gameplay, art, story, loading, difficulty
and music. Proud to say I beat it, really makes you feel like a badass too
2nd: Gunship. Quite a bit of work in items, weapons and tutorial menus. Not the best graphics but fun to play.
3rd: Can’t decide between Chomp or Zombiga. Both fairly simple/easy. I like zombies better than fishes but meh.
1st – Asherah – Very reminiscent of gauntlet. Plays well. No glaring bugs. Possibly a little hard but still fun to play, will have to play more later to see what later levels look like. Nice graphics and sound.
2nd – Zombiga – Played very well. No glaring bugs. The loading screens should have been removed and put in like every 3 levels if there were more levels and/or been relative to the level you were about to begin playing. Should have more levels and more difficult levels. Nice graphics and good enough sound.
3rd – Chomp – Reminded me a lot of the cell stage in Spore. Right around the right difficulty. No obvious gameplay bugs. Should make it more obvious when you are taking damage. Should have some method of regaining health and/or method to respawn without entirely restarting the level. Graphics are fitting.
No Place
———
All Your Base – Gameplay is completely unclear on what to do (even with reading the help information). Glaring bugs everywhere. Upon starting the game my character fell through the ground. REQUIRES two players to play as best as I can tell, this should be optional not required.
Chupa Kabra – Gameplay is boring and too difficult for a starting stage. “Hiding” in trees didn’t seem to do much. Game objectives were very unclear at the start. Graphics were unimpressive.
Gunshield – Would have voted for this for 4th place as this was not a horribly bad game. Graphics and sound were very appropriate and done well. The only reason this didn’t make it into the top 3 is the difficulty is too high for the first level. First levels should be easy and immediately rewarding to the player then get progressively harder. No player should ever really fail quickly in the first level of a game.
Pawn – Very buggy visually and unexciting to play. Difficulty is too high as well. Very reminiscent of Ghosts n’ Goblins. While not a massive problem, the travel direction is completely backwards from nearly every side scrolling game that I have ever played which made the start of the game very confusing. The game should start with the player progressing to the right as progress just feels “right” going to the right and feels like you are backtracking when going to the left.
1st place Asherah, fun gameplay and AMAZING ARTWORK!
1st place – Gunshield (very creative)
2nd place – Chomp (well balanced)
3rd place – Asherah (great art)
No place – Pawn, Zombiga, Chubicapbra (meh)
1st Asherah, clever design. Loads fast. Monsters have the right balance of challenge.
2nd chomp, loaded decently fast was mildly entertaining
3rd gunship, this was too choatic
4th pawn. too long to load interesting idea
5th chupa kabura. this game was too simple good for kids
no place zombaga, couldn’t load
1st place Asherah: I really liked the intro and gameplay, especially when it got dark.
2nd place Chomp: Fun little game with a good bit of humor.
3rd place Gunship: I wasn’t really impressed with the game but it was better than the rest of the games.
No place for the rest. Zombiga took way too long to load and was way too short. Pawn took way too long to load and was buggy and boring. All Your Base was extremely confusing. Chupa Kabra was boring.
1st Asherah/
2nd Zombiga
3rd all your base
no place Pawn
no place gunshield
no place chomp
1st Asherah: Starts up faster than all the other games. great detail, fun gameplay (perhaps not for a casual) and the visuals are great!
2nd Gunship Fun but can be a bit too repetitive.
3rd Chupakabra: Like the stealth of it but should be able to move a little faster and needs more hiding place or wuh!
1st: Chomp – Fun, I liked the abilities and cartoon graphics. Had a lot of different creatures, after the first level at least. Would like to see it complete.
2nd: Asherah – Liked that there was a intro story, gameplay was cool. Seemed to be well thought out.
3rd: Gunshield – It was fun, but had trouble using some of the weapons. A bit difficult too, took me a lot of tries. Most complete of the bunch.
No Place: Chupa Kabra – cool concept, but not really much to it. Got bored fast.
No Place: Zombiga – really good graphics and cutscenes. That’s it though. Is God Mode on?
No Place: Pawn – very glitchy, but does have potential.
No Place: All Your Base – ??? cool robots though.
1st Place: Asherah – Good sense of progression
2nd Place: Gunshield
3rd Place: Chupa Kabra
No Place: Pawn – Why are they using an engine when the rules specifically state not to?
No Place: Zombiga – Graphics are in 3D, but the competition is for a 2D game. Too much blood for a T rated game.
No Place: Chomp – Blood here again, which doesn’t fall into a T rated game.
No Place: All Your Base – Major bug at the beginning of the game.
1st Chomp – Cute and mildly fun, can maybe see where you going with this. Explore the ocean depth and maybe see where Chomp really came from?
2nd Gunshield – just wild and crazy, but entertaining.
3rd Asherah – Good and fun, pretty easy to me, but I’m just crazy gamer like that.
No Place Zombiga – is like the game Last Stand, but top-down view. Can’t die, all weapons are the same, but different sound. Good graphics though. Would be 4th.
No Place All Your Base – not sure what’s going on.
No Place Chupa Kabra – nice concept, but yeah not my cup of tea.
No Place Pawn – used 3rd party game engine and this is what you got?
1st definitely asherah
2nd chomp
3rd gunshield
First Place
Asherah
Nice!
1st Place: Asherah – clearly the best game on here. if this game doesn’t win the judges are on crack!
2nd Place: Chomp – fun but have seen this before.
3rd Place: Zombiga – love that you can never die.
No Place: All Your Base, Chupa Kabra, Gunshield, Pawn
1st Place – ASHERAH! ASHERAH! ASHERAH! Had the best story, gameplay was amazing, and overall THE BEST!!
1st asherah, gameplay was fun, seemed like the most polished
2nd gunshield, challenging at the start but was trivial once you had money to buy some of the other weapons
3rd zombiga
http://www.esrb.org/ratings/ratings_guide.jsp
States minimal blood is acceptable. Please do your research before making uninformed statements.
1. Chomp
2. Gunshield
3. Asherah
No Place. Everthing Else
Asherah – 1st place! .. is pretty mnuch the only game that MAKE SENSE TO ME!!!!
I vote for Asherah because I was threatened lol. Nah but it is a very good game and it seems to be flow better than the other two and I really like the art style of the game. Go Westwood… Los Angeles.
1st Place – Asherah – Very well done! Helpful hints were nice, graphics were great, liked the storyline. Would have liked a little more health and maybe a higher regen. (i’m sorta a carebear!)
2nd – Gunshield – Hard but fun, looked very polished
3rd – Chomp – May not have been the more original, but was nicely done. I found the controls a little hard to use but otherwise liked it.
No Place – The rest.
1st place is definitely for Asherah cuz of the gameplay, the fact that it had a story, and it was just awesome!
2nd to Chomp not very creative but it entertained me for at least 5 minutes.
3rd to Gun Shield. like asteroids but prettier.
no place to the rest of them.
1 Gunshield – intense and fun, I get negative dollas which makes it confusing to buy weapons.
2 Asherah – Diablo anyone? First Level the Butcher, Last level Diablo. Still, well executed.
3 Chomp – simple/casual/sweet/fun, reminds me of me.
No Place All Your Base – Doesn’t really play.
No Place Zombiga – Cool, but lacks something I can’t really point my finger on, oh yeah gameplay.
No Place Chupa Kabra – Good Concept, with potential.
No Place Pawn – Loads long, I was expecting something epic, but nope.
*if you guys actually look into the ESRB website, blood is acceptable in T rated games.
1st ASHERAH
2nd Gun Shield
3rd Zombiga
No Place FOR ALL THE REST….
1ST Asherah
2ND Gunshield
3RD Zombiga
1st Asherah – Good story, with progression, and puzzles. The only actual game on this competition.
2nd Chomp – Good game although could have been better and also the game concept has been over done.
3rd Gunshield – entertaining and gets on the nerve at the same time. nice arcade game although there are similar arcade games before. Nice layout though for menu/help section. (MENU SONG DOESN’T FIT GAME!)
‘No Place’ Allyourbase – This game is buggy. I like the concept but there’s too many things wrong. The game isn’t completed and could use many improvements such as indications: time, map, radar, etc.
‘No Place’ Pawn – This game looks cool but the game is way to big to load and uses a game engine which was against the rules(before change). Even so, game could have been done better example the shadow is sticking with the character when it jumps and there isn’t any type of motivation on playing such as story line progression or anything.
‘No Place’ Zombiga – I kind of like this game as it was a typical 2D shooter. There should be a loading screen at the beginning. I know there is but it appears after the game loads, so most people see a black screen for awhile. This game isn’t sticking to the teen rating. A lot of blood and animation. There is a 3D effect that is cool at the end but broke the “2D” game competition rules as in, ITS A ALL 2D GAME! Oh, also nice that you can’t die at all.
‘No Place’ Chupa Kabra – I don’t get this game at all. Played 30 seconds of it and was like… uhh…
1st place Asherah – Definately the most well thought out and in debth game. levels are great and provide a challange without being unbeatable.
2nd place Gunshield – Good concept here with alot of potential. But needs a bit of fleshing out and a few adjustments to be a decent game.
3rd place Chomp – fun enough, works well, but I don’t think I’d play it again after the first five minute run through.
1st place- DEFINITELY ASHERAH! wow good graphics, and very detailed, game was interesting and kept you playing till the end, very well put together.
1st place: Asherah! Has a appealing story and amazing visuals. Gameplay is fun! Last boss is cool!
2nd place: gunshield- good playability.
3rd Place: Chomp- Visuals good. Game is amusing. art is good.
1st—> Asherah!!! I loved the art work! looks very nice and interesting, the background music went well with the theme. And it was also a very interesting and challenging game to play!!! Super creative!
2nd–> gunshield… it was a challenge and interesting at first, but then it seemed to get repetitive…
3rd–> Chomp
Chupa Kabra… umm… yeah… I think you coulda gotten a little more creative with your story line.. it didn’t sound so appealing to go to a chicken den and hide from the infected chickens…
1st asherah, was the only game i actually enjoyed playing
2nd chomp
3rd zombiga
the rest are no place.
1st Asherah Nice concept.
2nd Pawn Nice artwork
3rd Chomp Crisp Artwork
