Our good friends at IronHide Game Studio, have notified Armor Games that Kingdom Rush has been stolen! Here is what happened:
“On October 21 it came to our attention that there was a version of Kingdom Rush for sale on the Appstore by the name “Kingdom Rush TD” by my Yayi. When we checked it, it was in fact a bad port of our game “Kingdom Rush” using our art, sound and music assets and cloning the gameplay. We were devastated of course, we worked for almost a year on Kingdom Rush and in around 3 months these guys stole our work and started selling it as their own.
We didn’t made this public earlier because we trusted that Apple would do the right thing and remove the app swiftly when presented with the evidence. Sadly its been around 18 days and the app is still there despite our countless mails to remove it.
We contacted Armorgames of course to make them aware of this and they also got in touch with Apple, we also hired the DMCA.com takedown service, sent over 20 emails along with copyright infringement notices to Apple and although the dev removed the app for a week, they published it again last friday. So since Apple is not answering or doing anything we decided to make this public and seek the support of the online community.
“Kingdom Rush TD” is a horrible port of Kingdom Rush, they did terrible work, no polish at all, most mechanics are badly implemented and it is plagued with bugs… in fact it is a trap for the unwary thinking its an official version of the game. They even charge you for extra gold and lives.
The official version of Kingdom Rush for iOS is almost ready, and it would be terrible to have to compete with the stolen app.
We think this is happening to often, and it really hurts the free flash game industry. As developers, there is no incentive in making a polished flash game if there is always some shady developer in wait to steal it and sell it without consequence.”
I’m in full support of this battle. Apple needs to step up and fix what is wrong, especially as it’s been happening more and more in recent weeks.
If apple doesn’t remove this killer virus, iPod stuff will be going crazy, people will be angered, they’ll tell other people, and the apple will go out of business

I Agree with FlashMush. Apple has to stop this, and this is not the first time something like this happens. It happened to some other games too! I seriously don’t like it that people even DARE to do this, and put there own names on it, when the real Dev’s worked a year on it!
It’s so sad to see how litte Apple does to protect the rights of it’s developers, especially when it’s these very same developers that have made the app store successful. Even sadder to see what lows a person will go to in order to make a quick buck – I have heard way too many of these horror cloning stories. For the guys who make up the wonderful IronHide team, I hope you find a happy ending to this problem.
if you look at the pictures they did rubish work on the title screen it says kingdom rush insted of kingdom rush TD like they named it. also i think this may be a crime but im only 14 so how should i know
what the heck is all this nonsense of stealing other’s hardwork?? one doesnt have to show off their “genuise-nee” by craftyly stealing a game… robbing the developers of the merit… and what in the world is apple doing?? is this really how it rose to the top… guess we have to think 100 times before opting for an apple product…!!!

Apple really showed some true colors when they did this.Kingdom rush is one of the best games i’ve ever played.Apple made a huge mistake putting a fake game on one of their apps. Yayi also screwed up the picture graphics to. And he tells them it is the official game?!it is all a bunch of rubbish.
Apple shouldn’t allow things like this to go on. The people who stole Kingdom Rush should not be allowed to earn money on something they stole. Game makers should be able to be proud of what they made, and take full credit for it. Apple should apologize and give the makers of the game reimbursement for what the pretender Yayi did.
I noticed that in the Kingdom Rush TD App that the sign saying “Ironhide” and “Armor Games” and the “Credits” button had been removed.

I’m in support of this battle as well as everyone else. I know that there have been countless rip-off apps of multiple things. I know one of the more popular ones is “Crafted” and it’s a poor take on Minecraft. Apple needs to step up and not release these kinds of apps. There’s an immense amount of copyright-infringement type apps and all of these need to be taken off the market immediately.
the apple people better remove that game or i’ll tell everyone i know at school and they probalbly have more friends on facebook than armorgames’ games have likes from people on facebook. contact me if this keeps up
The only reason that apple can get away with this sort or pretentious tripe is that they are a rich enough company to get away with it on the majority of occasions.
I always knew apple wasnt good. I mean with iphones vs android, and ipad vs tablet, apple was always in 2nd.
now they cheat to win. I guess the steve jobs incident really pushed them back. BIG time.

What a slimy and disrespectful company Apple is. I’m so glad I’ve never spent a single hard earned penny on any of their crappy devices. This just proves my opinion of the company is correct. I hope they get sued for Copyright Infringement.

It’s become an unfortunate side effect of the boom in mobile games distribution and the lack of IP checking and confirmation.
It’s really not apples fault compared to the android market, some of the apps logos in the Am are unapropiate. Apple isnt bad just that people need to be sued for copying not just take app of store
I do not like apple, and this puts my dislike even further!
