The LANCE!

Just released on Armor is my latest game, a fun little Upgradey game with adorable graphics from Jimp, a semi tribute to the brilliant Infinity Blade on iPhone, where you must battle through the generations to beat the Kings champion and claim his prize!

Help The Hero due out this Thursday! (19th May 2011)

Do you crave adventure? Do you experience a rush of excitement when you open a treasure chest to reveal the goodies inside? Do you love taking on giant monsters and impressing the ladies?

THE MIGHTY HERO!

THE MIGHTY HERO!

If so, then this game TOTALLY ISN’T FOR YOU. What you say!? Well in this game, you’re not the hero. You’re his lowly assistant.

THE LOWLY ASSISTANT!

THE LOWLY ASSISTANT!

The man behind the curtain, the brains behind the brawn! Can you take on the hero’s insatiable appetite for treasure and weaponry and keep him well equipped enough to best the beasts of ye olden times?

THE BATTLE!

THE BATTLE!

If so, you’re hired! Featuring the art of Dim Vian of The Super Flash Bros, and voiced by Arin “Egoraptor” Hanson, this game is a treat for the eyes and ears, and hopefully a great workout for the brain, as you fit, rotate and combine items on your grid to most efficiently use the space and save the day (though don’t expect any thanks for it!).

Shift hits the Mac Appstore

Shift has been all over the place recently, but if you’re lucky enough to have a Mac computer of some variety, then you could grab Fishing Cactus’ great iPhone edition of Shift 2 for your home computer or laptop, and play in full screen high definition.
It really is a great version of the game, and the success on the Appstore so far is really testament to the great job they did. It has so many new levels and features I really can’t recommend it enough, but I’ll try: Give it a go, it cost’s less than a cup of coffee and you’ll get hours of enjoyment out of it!
In celebration of the Mac Appstore releease, I’m going to put together a level pack of all of your best levels I’ve been sent over the years, because some of them really are so good they should be on show.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and speak to you all again soon!

Upgrade Complete just doesn’t seem Upgradey enough.

A little while ago I made a game called Upgrade Complete, and people seemed to like it a bit. But I always thought that for a game centred on upgrades it didn’t have quite enough of them.
I’ve received countless emails accusing me of not stuffing enough Upgrades into the game, but trust me, I don’t think it’s even possible to. How many upgrades would be enough for you? 50? 60? How about over 100 types of upgrade and the chance to hear that upgrade sound OVER 500 TIMES IN TOTAL.

Well let me tell you this. It’s impossible, and you’ll never get that kind of game. Especially not on April 1st.

In the mean time, I stumbled across this nice little review someone posted up earliar today. He seems to know his stuff, and is a fair reviewer.

Perfect K.O.L.M.I.A.M. Speed Run

Watching this made me so happy I could sing.

When I see things like this it really makes me feel great about what I do, this guy perfected the gameplay and his knowledge of the levels is legendary. I don’t even think I’ve ever completed challenge mode without dying at least twice, and I made the thing!

Well done Mr makspayne!

K.O.L.M. in a minute!

Or, it’s actual title, K.O.L.M.I.A.M. will be launching tommorrow on Armor Games.
What is it? Well imagine if K.O.L.M. was short enough to play in less than a minute, it’s like that.
Confused? Yeah I guess it’s confusing when you try and explain it in writing, but the jist of it is lots of levels that can all be completed in less than one minute, and belive me things start getting pretty challenging. Here’s a screenshot to help you visualise.

kolmscreen

See, this one is a little self contained level that can be completed very easily, but the levels become large multi room mazes, so you’ve really got to stay on your toes.
The best way to understand this is to wait until tommorrow to play (or if you’re reading this any time after that, just visit Armor Games to play!

Or, if you’re one of the few who still haven’t played the original, you can play it right here, right now!

Play K.O.L.M. at Armor Games

Hope you’re all having a great 2011 so far,

Tony

SHIFT 2 Now Available on the App Store! (iPhone/iPod Touch)

iphone-screenshot-2

Last year we released SHIFT on the Apple iPhone, and it was a huge hit. Shift 2 is now available as well and has a lot of added content for all you Shift fanatics.

When can you expect SHIFT 2 to hit the app store? How about… Now! Yes Apple has approved it and it went live this morning! If you have an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, you should definitely check it out here:

SHIFT 2 on iTunes

Or you can grab it from the appStore from your iPhone/iPod!

Shift 2 has a lot of extra content and a really awesome feature where you can snap a picture of a barcode image and have the game load extra level content. It’s really impressive and I may be showing my age a little prematurely, but the whole thing feels incredibly futuristic :D

Snap a picture of this image with your iPhone Camera from within the game to see how it flies!

Secret Shift 2 Level

Secret Shift 2 Level

Tell all your friends about it over Christmas, since obviously it would make the best gift ever! If you would like to say a big thank you to Armor over the Holiday season, this is as good a way as any, and won’t break the bank either!

I hope you guys decide to give it a try, and if you do, thankyou very much from me, personally, and I hope you have an extremely Merry Christmas!

Gentlemen… Start your IndestructoEngines!

Well, you guys might have been wondering what I’ve been up to lately, and the answer is this. Enjoy the opening to IndestructoTank 3 (In3structoTank!)

It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally decided to conclude the Epic Yarn that was Indestruc2Tank, with everything a fan of the series might like, tweaked Standard mode including an extra enemy that shakes things up, a new Adventure mode which concludes the thrilling IndestructoSaga, and even a few extras thrown in that some of you might like.

The game will be out soon, so keep an eye on that Armor Games frontpage, and let’s start racking up those combos real soon!

Awesome Review Complete

Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) should fly on over to the screw attack website to check out the awesome video review of Upgrade Complete that was recently posted there.

Upgrade Complete on Screw Attack

It really is nice to get positive feedback in any form for work you do, but when someone goes to all that effort just to provide you with positive feedback (and entertain viewers, of course) it really makes you smile. Upgrade Complete was one of thoseĀ  games that recieved almost universal acclaim for its quirkiness, most often for how unique the idea behind it all was, when in actual fact the entire project was pretty much moulded around the idea of Johns “Achievement Unlocked”, only taking a jab at a different aspect of gaming. I actually however, quite like the feeling of upgrading items/weapons/computers to run the latest games, so I hope no Upgrade friendly developers took too much offence (The end screen was, at one point, criticised for being too insulting, oh well!).

I hope everyone is having a good year so far, and I’ll be getting back to you very soon with some exciting updates! Thanks to Dan for showing me this great link :)

Shift-4 & Shift on the iPhone/iPod Touch Coming May 19th

Remember that game I said I’d be releasing before Christmas? That small side project that you guys won’t have heard much about. Well it’s nearly done, and here is a trailer of sorts. I’ve included the title at the start, in case it’s a bit too obscure for you to remember.

Coming to a Computer Screen near you on May 19th!! Mark your Calendars.

AND THAT’S NOT ALL!

Because released at pretty much the same time for all you gadget junkies – SHIFT for iPhone/iPod Touch!
A rather brilliant remake of Shift 1 with tonnes (and I mean tonnes) of extra levels.
A free version will be available for you to give it a try, and it’s not one of those crummy free versions that last 2 seconds, either, it’s rather substantial (about the length of the original game itself!).

Here are some screenies!

main-2 4-2

2-2 1-2

So, what do you guys think?

Check the App-Store on May 19th to get your FREE copy of Shift on your iPhone/iPod touch.

Captain Tony, signing off.
